Type 1 Allergic Reaction Process

Drawn at random from a baseball cap I was given the task of illustrating a Type 1 allergic reaction. In this reaction the body responds to an allergy with a long term reaction, as opposed to an immediate sneeze. The majority of the sources I found used lab data with animal testing as an example on how the immune system can be tricked into reacting to harmless invaders. Two doses of egg albumen results in an allergy and a histamine release which will among other things dilate capillaries.

On Self Dissection (cont.)

It's the first week back in school from winter break. I brought a cold with me.

Hiatal Hernia's: condtions

A few months ago me and my gifted dissection group sawed off the rib cage for the thorax section of our studies. After passing the pleura and pericardium we found what looked like a second heart. About the third of the size of the cadaver's (not meant to sound disrespectful legally a name can't be given) was a hiatal hernia. A condition caused by possibly a wider than normal esophageal hiatus the stomach can pull up into the thorax. I plan to turn this into a digital painting

Simple Information Graphics

I had to illustrate the basic properties of an animal cell vs plant cell. The idea was that it would be published in a college level anatomy and physiology textbook. I decided to make it very minimalistic (hate this word) designs for each structure so that it could share a page in a small amount of space. At first I thought some flagella or villi would be a tad accessive for the animal side (since most don't have it), then I realized, oh s*#t I have nothing listed in the structures exclusively present in animal cells.

On Self-Dissection

This quarter I worked on a project where I had demonstrate the positions of certain structures; facial artery, common carotid, internal carotid, and ventricles via palpable structures. I hope to make this interactive soon... I've gotten used to my cadaver being the focus of dissections using myself is quite eerie.
